Frequently asked questions
Can I open the lid during the steaming process?
The EasyQuick works without pressure, allowing you to lift the lid any time during cooking to adjust seasonings or add ingredients effortlessly.
Why do I need to use the Softiera for steaming with the Easyquick?
The Softiera insert lifts your food above the cooking liquid, allowing pure steam to circulate evenly. This ensures gentle, water-free contact, helping to preserve texture, nutrients, and shape — especially important for delicate ingredients like vegetables or fish.
What is the difference between the EasyQuick and a pressure cooker?
The A by AMC EasyQuick is a steaming lid, not a pressure cooker. It cooks food gently with steam at lower temperatures (below 100°C), preserving more nutrients, color, and texture — ideal for vegetables, fish, and light meals.
In contrast, a pressure cooker cooks under high pressure at higher temperatures (often above 100°C), which is faster but less gentle, and more suited for hearty dishes like stews or legumes.

How much liquid do I need to add?
When using the A by AMC EasyQuick, always add at least 150 ml of water to the pot. This is the minimum amount needed to generate enough steam for effective cooking.
For longer cooking times, larger portions, or cooking with the Combi on top of the pot (stacking) you need to add a bit more liquid (200ml in total).

How do I clean the EasyQuick lid?
Let the Easyquick cool down completely before cleaning. Remove the gasket and rinse it separately. Wash all parts with warm water and mild detergent using a soft sponge.
All lid components are dishwasher-safe, but hand-washing extends the life of the sealing ring. After washing, dry all parts thoroughly before reassembling and storing to prevent moisture buildup or odors.

Why does the valve (orange pin) move up and down?
The valve moves particularly when the temperature rises and boiling begins and the steam atmosphere builds up. Once a stable steam atmosphere has been established, the valve usually moves less or not at all.
